On March 25, 2019, Aging Cell published research co-authored by AFAR experts Judy Campisi, PhD, Eduardo Chini, MD, PhD, James L. Kirkland MD, PhD, Nathan LeBrasseur, PhD, Allyson Palmer, M.D, PhD, Marissa Schafer, PhD, and Ming Xu, PhD exploring how removal of senescent 'zombie cells' alleviates causes of diabetes in obese mice. The research shows that senolytic drugs hold promise as a treatment of age-related disease.
