AFAR Grantee in the News: Pinchas Cohen, MD, elected as a 2024 Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science
In April 2024, AFAR Grantee and Irving Wright Winner Pinchas Cohen, MD was elected as a 2024 Fellow of the prestigious American Association for the Advancement of Science.
Dr. Cohen, dean of the USC Leonard Davis School of Gerontology, was named a fellow of AAAS “for distinguished contributions to the fields of aging research and molecular biology, particularly using mitochondrial peptides to study possible therapeutic benefits for diabetes, Alzheimer’s and other diseases related to aging.”
Dr. Cohen is a 2017 Glenn Foundation for Medical Research Breakthroughs in Gerontology (BIG) Award recipient. In 2019, he received AFAR’S Irving S. Wright Award of Distinction.
