Each year at our awards dinner, AFAR honors leaders in science, business, and philanthropy for their contributions to the field of aging.

To date, AFAR has given more thirty of our awards of distinction: the AFAR Award, the George E. and Marie J. Doty Award, the Honorary Leadership Award, and the Icon of Aging Award.

George E. and Marie J. Doty Awards

Named in honor of two highly venerated individuals, AFAR Founding Board Member George E. Doty, Sr. and his wife Marie, this award recognizes lay visionaries who through their generosity and compassion help advance AFAR’s mission and populate the field with more scientists focused on aging research and clinicians trained in geriatric care.
