Board Member in the News: Steven Austad lends expertise on sex chromosomes and longevity in The Guardian
On March 3, The Guardian featured insights from AFAR expert Steven Austad, PhD, on new research that connects having two copies of the same sex chromosome with increased longevity.
Dr. Austad is AFAR’s Senior Scientific Director. He is also a distinguished professor and Chair of the Department of Biology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, as well as Co-Principle-Investigator of the Nathan Shock Centers of Excellence in the Basic Biology of Aging Coordinating Center.
