In the video, Dr. Barzilai discusses the Targeting Aging with Metformin (TAME) study, his research on centenarians and longevity, and the goal to extend healthspan.
The presentation is framed around the topic of Metabesity, which looks at “the armada of metabolic diseases that include diabetes, obesity, metabolic syndrome, cardiovascular disease, neurodegenerative disorders and accelerated aging. These diseases share both metabolic and inflammatory roots.”
