Board Member in the News: TAME Trial Named One of the Seven Top Innovations of 2015

Congratulations to Deputy Scientific Director, Nir Barzilai, MD, and the entire TAME team on being including as one the “7 of the biggest innovations that made headlines in 2015” by The Washington Post.

The article described how aging research is making strides toward showing that the decline in health that comes with aging isn't as inevitable as once thought. The piece also positions how after receiving positive feedback from the FDA, Barzilai and fellow investigators are working to develop a study design that can demonstrate how warding off the effects of aging can be as viable a way of combating disease as drugs prescribed to patients.

Nir Barzilai, MD, is the Director of the Institute for Aging Research at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and a two-time AFAR grant recipient.

More information about the TAME (Taming Aging with Metformin) trial can be found here.
