Board Member in the News: Richard W. Besdine, MD, featured in Parade on the impact of exercising on healthy aging

On December 16th, 2024, Parade published an article featuring insights from AFAR Board Member Richard W. Besdine, MD, on the impact that lifestyle changes such as exercise can have on biological aging.

Dr. Besdine highlighted the benefits of regular exercise on both the heart and brain, reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease and dementia, emphasizing that even small amounts of physical activity can help extend healthspan and delay age-related diseases.

Dr. Besdine is AFAR’s former Medical Officer and a current member of AFAR’s Board of Directors. He is also a Professor of Medicine at The Warren Alpert Medical School and a Professor of Health Services, Policy and Practice at the Brown School of Public Health.
