On March 23, 2019, CNBC featured AFAR expert Nir Barzilai, MD and the AFAR-managed Targeting Aging with Metformin (TAME) trial in an article exploring the potential for metformin and other drug interventions to delay the onset of age-related diseases. The article also examines how this potential is influencing consumer behavior, particularly in Silicon Valley.
Dr. Barzilai is AFAR’s Deputy Scientific Director, a multiple AFAR grantee, and Director of the Nathan Shock Center of Excellence in the Basic Biology of Aging at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, for which AFAR serves as the coordinating center.
