On October 25, 2023, the Progress, Potential, and Possibilities podcast released an episode featuring SuperAgers Family Study Principal Investigator Sofiya Milman, MD, MS, on the goals of the Study and what it may reveal about the science behind cases of exceptional longevity.
In the episode, Dr. Milman describes the link between genetics and longevity and how researching SuperAgers may help scientists understand more about improving both healthspan and lifespan. “The people who do live to be 95 or older are really rare in our population, and what’s even more surprising about these people is that they’re relatively healthy,” shares Dr. Milman during her interview. “This tells us that the human body is capable of living long and—more importantly—healthy lives.”
