AFAR in the News: SuperAgers Family Study and Principal Investigator Sofiya Milman featured on Fox 32 Chicago
On September 12, 2023, Fox 32 Chicago featured insights from Sofiya Milman, MD, MS, on the aims and potential impact of AFAR’s SuperAgers Family Study, which is a multi-year strategic initiative of AFAR. In the segment, Dr. Milman—Prinicipal Investigator of the SuperAgers Family Study—explains the aims of the Study and how it may help researchers better understand the science behind cases of exceptional longevity. “We’re hoping that these families can help us learn what are the secrets to living long and healthy lives,” she shares.
Led by AFAR in collaboration with the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and the Boston University School of Medicine, the Study aims to collect data from a large group of individuals who have lived to age 95 or more. The Study's goal is to understand and uncover the biological factors contributing healthy aging and exceptional longevity shared among the SuperAgers and their families.
