Los Angeles Times spotlights the Field of Geroscience

On March 11th, 2026, the Los Angeles Times published an article exploring geroscience, highlighting how researchers are shifting the focus from treating diseases individually to addressing the underlying biological processes to prevent or delay age-related disease and extend healthspan.

The article touched on advances in the field of aging research, the potential social and economic benefits of investing in geroscience to extend healthspan, and the need for validated biomarkers of aging to enable clinical trials that can target the process of aging itself.

AFAR applauds the LA Times for this thorough and accurate coverage of geroscience and its promise to extend healthspan.
