The American Federation for Aging Research (AFAR) mourns the passing of Richard Menschel.
A close associate of founder Irving S. Wright, MD, Mr. Menschel was an early and ongoing champion of aging research. Mr. Menschel was a cherished member of our extended community and an incredible supporter of AFAR’s mission.
Through the Charina Foundation, he directed philanthropy to support a wide range of institutions, including art museums, schools, hospitals, and health charities.
His dedication will be remembered not only by us but also by the many scientists he supported with his generosity for over thirty years.
AFAR is immensely grateful for Mr. Menschel’s decades of support.
