On May 11th 2018, the Nathan Shock Centers Coordinating Center and the University of Washington Medicine Nathan Shock Center co-hosted a webinar, The Dog Aging Project: Learning from Man’s Best Friend.

2007 Glenn Foundation for Medical Research Breakthroughs in Gerontology (BIG) Award recipient and Co-Director of the Dog Aging Project Matt Kaeberlein, Ph.D. presented the latest findings from this innovative approach to understanding human aging by studying canine longevity.

Steven N. Austad, Ph.D. (Co-Principal Investigator of the Nathan Shock Center Coordinating Center, Director of the NSC at the University of Alabama Birmingham, and AFAR Scientific Director) facilitated at the discussion.

Matt Kaeberlein, Ph.D. is a Co-Director of the University of Washington Medicine Nathan Shock Center of Excellence in the Basic Biology of Aging. Dr. Kaeberlein is also Director of the University of Washington Healthy Aging and Longevity Research Institute.

Steven N. Austad, Ph.D. is a Distinguished Professor and Department Chair at the University of Alabama, Birmingham. Dr. Austad is also the Director of the Nathan Shock Center of Excellence in the Basic Biology of Aging at the University of Alabama Birmingham, and Co-Principal Investigator of the Nathan Shock Centers program, for which AFAR serves as the Coordinating Center.
