Grantees in the News: Research co-authored by 4 AFAR grantees on cellular senescence and age-related blood clots in Cell Reports
On September 24, 2019, Cell Reports published new research by AFAR experts Natan Basisty, PhD, Judith Campisi, PhD, Pankaj Kapahi, PhD, and Christopher D. Wiley, PhD, that links cellular senescence to age-related blood clots.
Dr. Basisty is a 2015 Diana Jacobs Kalman/AFAR Scholarships for Research in the Biology of Aging recipient, and a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Schilling Lab at the Buck Institute.
Dr. Campisi is a 1990 AFAR Research Grant recipient, and a 2002 Irving S. Wright Award recipient. She is also the head of the Campisi Lab at the Buck Institute.
Dr. Kapahi is a 2006 Glenn Foundation for Medical Research Breakthroughs in Gerontology (BIG) Award recipient, as well as the head of the Kapahi Lab at the Buck Institute.
Dr. Wiley is a 2009 Ellison/AFAR Postdoctoral Fellow and a Research Assistant Professor in the Campisi Lab at the Buck Institute.
