Grantees in the News: Research co-authored by 3 AFAR grantees on stem cell adaptation in homeostasis and injury in Cell
On August 22, Cell published research by AFAR experts Chia-Wei Cheng, PhD, Maria Mihaylova, PhD, and Ömer H. Yilmaz, MD, PhD that finds that control of βOHB-activated signaling in ISCs by diet helps to fine-tune stem cell adaptation in homeostasis and injury.
Dr. Cheng is a 2019 Irene Diamond Fund/AFAR Postdoctoral Transition Awards in Aging recipient and a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research at MIT.
Dr. Mihaylova is a 2019 AFAR Research Grant recipient and an Assistant Professor at the Ohio State University.
Dr. Yilmaz is a 2015 AFAR Research Grant recipient, and a Eisen and Change Career Development Professor and Associate Professor of Biology at the Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research at MIT.
