Grantees in the News: Natan Basisty and Judith Campisi new research identifies several candidate biomarkers of cellular senescence with SASP Atlas in PLOS Biology

On January 16, 2020, PLOS Biology published new research from AFAR experts Natan Basisty, PhD, and Judith Campisi, PhD, that provides a comprehensive proteomic database of the senescence-associated secretory phenotype (SASP), for which they created the “SASP Atlas.” Their research identifies several candidate biomarkers of cellular senescence that overlap with aging markers in human plasma.

Dr. Basisty is a 2015 Diana Jacobs Kalman/AFAR Scholarships for Research in the Biology of Aging recipient, and a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Schilling Lab at the Buck Institute.

Dr. Campisi is a 1990 AFAR Research Grant recipient, and a 2002 Irving S. Wright Award recipient. She is also the head of the Campisi Lab at the Buck Institute.
