Grantee in the News: Reisa Sperling latest research on Sex Differences and Alzheimer’s causing protein deposits in JAMA Neurology
On February 4, 2018, JAMA Neurology published research authored by AFAR expert Reisa Sperling, MD, which revealed that men had fewer of tau and beta-amyloid protein deposits linked to Alzheimer’s in their brains than women. The study utilizes an innovative brain scanning technique that Dr. Sperling developed thanks to early support from AFAR.
Dr. Sperling is a 2003 Beeson Scholar.
