Grantee in the News: Randall Bateman research in PNAS on persistent metabolic youth in aging female brain View MoreBACK

 

On February 4, 2019, the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences published research authored by AFAR expert Randall J. Bateman, MD, which found that in terms of brain metabolism, the adult female brain is on average a few years younger than the male brain.

Dr. Bateman is 2007 Beeson Scholar, as well as recipient of the 2012 MetLife Foundation Promising Investigator Award for Medical Research in Alzheimer’s Disease, which AFAR managed.
