Grantee in the News: Joe Verghese in NY Times on social dancing and delaying dementia

On April 30th 2019, The New York Times featured insights from AFAR expert Joe Verghese, MBBS in an article about the long term health benefits of dance. The article references a study led by Verghese’s team, which found that social dancing may decrease the risk of developing dementia.

Dr. Verghese is a 2004 Paul B. Beeson Emerging Leaders Career Development Award in Aging scholar.
