Grantee in the News: David Gate’s on T Cell Receptors and immune changes in Alzheimer’s patients in Nature
On January 8, 2020, Nature published research by AFAR expert David Gate, PhD. Supported in part an AFAR grant, the research uses clonally expanded T Cell Receptors (TCRs) in the cerebrospinal fluid of patients with Alzheimer’s disease to identify peripheral and central adaptive immune changes in patients.
Dr. Gates is a 2015 Glenn Foundation for Medical Research Postdoctoral Fellowship in Aging Research recipient, as well as a 2019 Irene Diamond Fund/AFAR Postdoctoral Transition Awards in Aging recipient. He is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow of Neurology and Neurological Sciences at Stanford University.
The research was partially funded by Dr. Gate’s Glenn Foundation for Medical Research Postdoctoral Fellowship in Aging Research award.
