On February 7, 2020, Science published research co-authored by AFAR expert Andrea Sorrano, PhD, that developed new stickers-and-spacer models to analyze protein clumps that appear as a result of an abnormality in the process of liquid-liquid phase separation (LLPS).

Dr. Sorrano is a 2018 New Investigator Awards in Alzheimer's Disease recipient, as well as an Assistant Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics at the Washington University in St. Louis.

The research was funded in part by Dr. Sorrano’s New Investigator’s Award.
