Experts in the News: Barzilai, Kirkland, and Niedernhofer on Senescent “Zombie” cells, in Associated Press

On May 14, 2019, Associated Press featured AFAR experts Nir Barzilai, MD, James L. Kirkland, MD, PhD, and Laura Niedernhofer, MD, PhD, in an article on the role of senescent cells and aging.

Dr. Barzilai is AFAR’s Deputy Scientific Director and a multiple grantee.

Dr. Kirkland is AFAR’s President-Elect and a 2012 Glenn Foundation for Medical Research Breakthroughs in Gerontology (BIG) Award recipient.

Dr. Niedernhofer is received AFAR’s 2018 Vincent Cristofalo Rising Star Award in Aging Research.
