Grantee in the News: Ana Maria Cuervo elected to National Academy of Sciences View MoreBACK

AFAR congratulates Ana Maria Cuervo, MD, PhD on her election into the esteemed National Academy of Sciences.

Dr. Cuervo is a 2008 Vincent Cristofalo Rising Star Award in Aging Research recipient and 2000 Glenn Foundation for Medical Research and AFAR Grant for Junior Faculty recipient. She also serves as Co-Director of the Nathan Shock Center of Excellence in the Basic Biology of Aging at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, for which AFAR serves as the Coordinating Center.

A private, nonprofit institution established in 1863, the National Academy of Sciences elected 100 new members and 25 foreign associates this year “in recognition of their distinguished and continuing achievements in original research.”
