Board Member in the News: Watch Deputy Scientific Director Nir Barzilai’s Tedx Talk

On September 27th, 2014, AFAR’s Deputy Science Director and two-time grantee, Nir Barzilai, M.D. presented at TedxGramercy’s “Grit” event in New York City.

In his talk, “How to Die Young at a Very Old Age,” Dr. Barzilai underscores aging is a connecting risk factor behind the growing rates of diseases such as cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and heart disease. He explains how through his work studying the genetic make-up of healthy centenarians and their families, he is unlocking clues that may help postpone the onset of aging itself.
