As a scholar and researcher, Dr. Wetle has been instrumental in shaping the research and careers of thousands of students and colleagues.
As recent Deputy Director of the National Institute on Aging at the National Institutes of Health, she has championed biomedical studies and geriatric care on a national level.
As AFAR’s former board president and current board member, Dr. Wetle has been a valued leader who has guided our work to advance the science of healthy aging.
