For the third consecutive year, AFAR has received a 4-star rating for sound fiscal management and commitment to accountability and transparency from Charity Navigator, America's largest and most-utilized independent evaluator of charities.
Four stars is the highest ranking granted. This rating commends AFAR for not only adhering to good governance and other best practices that minimize the chance of unethical activities but also consistently executing its mission in a fiscally responsible way. Only 14% of the charities that Charity Navigator rats have received at least 3 consecutive 4-star evaluations, indicating that AFAR outperforms most other charities in America.
