AFAR Experts in the News: Findings by Burd, Kirkland, Niedernhofer, and Xu on Fisetin as natural senotherapeutic in Science Daily

On October 2, 2018, ScienceDaily spotlighted the research of Christin Burd, Ph.D., James Kirkland, M.D, Ph.D., Laura Niedernhofer, M.D., Ph.D., and Ming Xu, Ph.D. on Fisetin, a senotherapeutic that extends health and lifespan. Their findings expands research published in July in Nature Medicine.

Dr. Burd is a 2014 AFAR Research Grant for Junior Faculty recipient.

Dr. Kirkland is the AFAR President-elect and 2012 Glenn/AFAR Breakthroughs in Gerontology Award recipient.

Dr. Niedernhofer is a Current National Scientific Advisory Council member, 2017 Pilot grantee, and 2018 Vincent Cristofalo awardee.

Dr. Xu is a 2014 Glenn/AFAR Postdoctoral Fellowship Program for Translational Research on Aging recipient and a 2017 Irene Diamond Fund/AFAR Postdoctoral Transition Awards in Aging fellow.
