![Grantee in the News: Kristine Yaffe co-authors research connecting cardiovascular risk factors with late-life cognitive declines in Neurology Journal]()
On March 16, 2021, Neurology Journal published new research co-authored by AFAR grantee Kristine Yaffe, MD, connecting cardiovascular risk factors (CVRF) such as elevated body mass index, fasting glucose, and systolic blood pressure with greater late-life cognitive declines.
Dr. Yaffe is a 2001 Paul B. Beeson Emerging Leaders Career Development Award in Aging Scholar recipient. She is a Professor of Psychiatry, Neurology and Epidemiology, as well as the Vice-Chair of Research in Psychiatry at the Roy and Marie Scola Endowed Chair at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Yaffe also serves as one of four Principal Investigators for the new National Institute on Aging (NIA) Clin-STAR Coordinating Center.
