Experts in the News: Nir Barzilai and Thomas Perls share insights learned studying Super Agers and give tips to extend healthspan in Parade

The article also highlights Dr. Barzilai’s new book, Age Later: Healthspan, Lifespan, and the New Science of Longevity.

Dr. Barzilai is AFAR’s Scientific Director, a 1994 Glenn Foundation for Medical Research and AFAR Grants for Junior Faculty recipient, a 1997 Paul B. Beeson Emerging Leaders Career Development Award in Aging scholar, a 2010 Irving S. Wright Award winner, and the Director at the Institute for Aging Research and distinguished Professor at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

Dr. Perls is a 1998 Paul B. Beeson Emerging Leaders Career Development Award recipient. He is the Founder and Director of the New England Centenarian Study and a Professor of Medicine at Boston University’s School of Medicine.
