AFAR Leadership in the News: Scientific Director Steven N. Austad, PhD, featured on The Dan Buettner Podcast

Drawing on his recent book, Methuselah’s Zoo: What Nature Can Teach Us About Living Longer, Healthier, Lives, Dr. Austad shared insights into lifestyle interventions that could help extend healthspan, contemplated the limits of radical life extension, and more in this lively conversation.

Dr. Austad is helping spearhead new research on Blue Zones. He recently co-authored an article published in The Gerontologist, affirming the validity of demographic data associated with Blue Zones. Additional papers co-authored by Dr. Austad and AFAR Irving S. Wright Award recipient S. Jay Olshansky, PhD, on the Blue Zones are forthcoming.
