AFAR Leadership in the New: President Thomas A. Rando, MD, PhD, shares his healthy aging tips with Business Insider

On January 2nd, 2026, Business Insider published a feature article spotlighting AFAR President, Thomas A. Rando, MD, PhD. Dr. Rando shares insights on his own habits and science-backed lifestyle interventions that could help extend healthspan, such as exercise and altering dietary behavior.

In addition to being the President of AFAR’s Board of Directors, Dr. Rando is a 2008 Glenn Foundation for Medical Research Breakthroughs in Gerontology (BIG) Award recipient and a 1999 Paul B. Beeson Emerging Leaders Career Development Award in Aging recipient.
