AFAR Grantee in the News: New Research by Denise Cai, PhD on brain mechanisms involved in updating and integrating memories in Nature, U.S. News and World Reports, and HealthDay

On November 6, 2024, Nature published research co-authored by AFAR Grantee Denise Cai, PhD, on the brain mechanisms involved in updating and integrating memories over time.

The research also garnered attention in Health Day and U.S. News and World Reports, where Dr. Cai provided further insights, sharing:

“We’ve taken a major step in the direction of better understanding real-world memory, where we know that our memories are constantly being updated and remodeled with subsequent experience so that we can function day-to-day in a dynamic world.”

Dr. Cai is a 2023 McKnight Brain Research Foundation Innovator Awards in Cognitive Aging and Memory Lossrecipient.
