AFAR Experts in the News: Nature article on immune system and aging features Laura Neidernhofer, MD, PhD, and Vittorio Sebastiano, PhD

On May 7th, 2024, Nature featured AFAR Experts Laura J. Niedernhofer, MD, PhD, and Vittorio Sebastiano, PhD. in an article on the link between healthy immune systems and increased healthspan. Dr. Niedernhofer and Dr. Sebastiano shared insights from their own research.

Dr. Niedernhofer is a 2018 Vincent Cristofalo Rising Star Award in Aging Research recipient, as well as a current AFAR Board Member.

Dr. Sebastiano is a 2017 Glenn Foundation for Medical Research and AFAR Grants for Junior Faculty recipient and a 2020 Glenn Foundation for Medical Research Breakthroughs in Gerontology (BIG) awardee.
