On July 23rd, 2025, The Guardian published an article featuring insights from AFAR Cristofalo Award Winner Nathan LeBrasseur, PhD, and Irving S. Wright Award winner Mark Lachs, MD, MPH, who also serves on AFAR’s Board of Directors. The article explores how aging adults can support their health across decades through preventive care, physical activity, strong relationships, and personalized wellness strategies.

Dr. Lachs is an AFAR Board Member and former Board President, a 1995 Beeson Scholar, and the 2017 Irving S. Wright Award of Distinction recipient.

Dr. LeBrasseur is a 2002 Glenn/AFAR Scholarship for Research in the Biology of Aging recipient, and the 2019 Vincent Cristofalo Rising Star Award in Aging Research recipient.
