On November 6, 2018, AFAR will host our Annual Awards Dinner and Symposium at the Lotte New York Palace.
We will present the George E. and Marie J. Doty Award to Jim Mellon, Chairman of Juvenescence Limited, as well as recognize David Sinclair, Ph.D. and Laura Niedernhofer, M.D., Ph.D. with the Iriving S. Wright and Vincent Cristofalo scientific awards.
Meredith Vieira, Emmy Award-winning producer and host of the PBS documentary Incredible Aging will join us as Master of Ceremonies.
The event kicks off with a symposium discussing new therapies in aging research and highlighting opportunities for investment. AFAR board member Pol Vandenbroucke, M.D. will moderate a panel featuring Nir Barzilai, M.D., Veronica Galvan, Ph.D., Thomas Rando, M.D., Ph.D., David Sinclair, Ph.D., and Felipe Sierra, Ph.D.

AFAR’s editorial partnership with the PBS website, Next Avenue, continues with the latest column by Scientific Director Steven Austad, Ph.D. as well as a new Ask the Expert interview.

In “It’s Not Just What You Eat--It’s When You Eat,” Dr. Austad explores research on the health benefits of a fasting-mimicking diet and following our body’s circadian rhythm. Read the column here.
