Longevity

Is it nature or nurture?

Increasingly, scientists view longevity as a complex interplay between our genes and our environment. Researchers have identified so-called longevity assurance genes, variants of which seem to allow lower organisms such as fruit flies and worms to respond more efficiently to their environment and live well beyond their peers. Research on human longevity assurance genes is still relatively new, but our knowledge in this exciting area is growing all the time.
