AFAR Deputy Scientific Director Nir Barzilai to speak on The Longevity Gene Project at The Osborn

Start Time: April 11, 2018

AFAR Deputy Scientific Director Nir Barzilai, M.D., will share a special presentation, free and open to the public, at The Osborn retirement community.

Dr. Barzilai will share his research into the lives of 600 centenarians and his discovery of “longevity genes” that appear to protect against major age-related diseases, such as cardiovascular disease, cancer, type 2 diabetes, and dementia. His exploration of the biology of aging shows how nutrients and genetics work together to influence lifespans. He will also share insights from his work investigating how mental decline and personality affect longevity.
