Pharmacologic Resolution of Inflammation as a Novel Therapeutic Approach
Date: October 28, 2014 Time: 8:30 am – 5:30 pm Location: The New York Academy of Sciences Poster Abstract Deadline: September 26, 2014
Uncontrolled, chronic inflammation is now considered a major component of many widespread diseases, which are now well-recognized as 'inflammatory diseases.' These include arthritis, asthma, atherosclerosis and peripheral vascular disease, Alzheimer’s disease, periodontal disease and cancer. This full-day symposium reviews recent discoveries and advances related to chronic inflammation, and demonstrates how this work translates into new approaches and new pharmacology to treat old diseases.

Gene Network Changes in Alzheimer’s Disease: Potential Points for Therapeutic Intervention
Date: November 3, 2014 Time: 8:30 am – 4:30 pm Location: The New York Academy of Sciences Poster Abstract Deadline: September 26, 2014
This symposium will focus on the identification of microglial gene network signatures associated with Alzheimer’s disease (AD), how these phenotypes might be modulated to alter the course of AD pathology, and how a better understanding of peripheral immune biology may lead to the development of therapeutics and peripheral biomarkers for AD.
