All of us in academic positions want to ensure that our research is relevant, that it contributes to improving the care of older adults and their families. However, finding the time, making sense of competing responsibilities, and identifying effective ways to influence practice and policy can be daunting.

Laura N. Gitlin, PhD, Professor and Director of the Center for Innovative Care in Aging at the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing, will lead a webinar that explores ways to think about these opportunities and will describe practical approaches—both large and small—that researchers can use to take up this important work.

She will be joined by Lynn Fields Harris, MPA, Executive Director of Center in the Park (Philadelphia, PA) and Chair-Elect of the National Institute of Senior Centers/National Council on Aging, one of the nation’s leading senior centers, who will talk about how community (or national) groups and researchers can work together as one way to make a difference.
