AFAR is pleased to be a partner for the international conference, "Longevity Nation—Enhancing Research, Development, and Education for Healthy Longevity," from October 28th to 31st, 2024, at Bar Ilan University, Ramat Gan, Israel.
This significant event aims to bring together experts and enthusiasts to exchange ideas, share knowledge, and collaborate on research to improve healthy longevity. The conference will feature keynote speeches, panel discussions, and interactive workshops on the latest aging and longevity research advancements.
Among the AFAR experts scheduled to present are President Thomas A. Rando, MD, PhD, and Board members Nir Barzilai, MD, and Richard G.A. Faragher, PhD.
Our partners include the Medical Research Council (MRC) - Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC), Ageing Networks in the United Kingdom (UK), and Vetek (Seniority) Association – the Movement for Longevity and Quality of Life in Israel. Together, we are advancing international cooperation by establishing the Tripartite American British Israeli Longevity Initiative (TABILI). This initiative presents a significant step in the aging and longevity research field, which will officially launch at this landmark conference.
Each participating country brings a wealth of scientific and technological achievements, supportive infrastructure for research and development, and a highly skilled workforce in biomedical research on aging and aging-related diseases. TABILI will build on these strengths to promote research, development, and education on healthy longevity and preventing aging-related diseases globally. The conference will serve as a starting point for collaboration between AFAR, the UK, and Israel, with joint scientific endeavors involving scientists from the three countries.
