Grantee in the News: Reisa Sperling Leads Alzheimer’s Clinical Trial
On March 27th, 2015, The Boston Globe reported on a new clinical trial led by 2003 Beeson Scholar Reisa Sperling, MD, MMSc, to test a drug that may help prevent Alzheimer’s disease.
In the trial, researchers will test whether a drug, referred to as A4, can prevent Alzheimer’s disease in people who have no symptoms but are at risk. Dr. Sperling is looking to recruit 1,000 adults between the ages of 65-85, particularly people of color.
Reisa Sperling, MD, MMSc, is the Director, Center for Alzheimer's Research and Treatment & Co-Director, Neuroimaging Core at the Massachusetts Alzheimer's Disease Research Center and a Professor of Neurology at Harvard Medical School.
