Grantee in the News: Kristine Yaffe on Lifestyle Tips to Enhance Brain Health
On July 24th, US News and World Reports featured 2001 Beeson Scholar Kristine Yaffe, M.D., in an article on lifestyle choices that help to protect the brain against age related cognitive decline.
The article reported that while promising drugs can take years to translate from the research laboratory to the clinician’s office, healthy lifestyle choices have been proven effective at lowering one’s risk of Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, and memory loss Dr. Yaffe particularly pointed to maintain good sleep habits and lifelong physical activity as means for optimizing brain health.
