AFAR to Co-host Conference on Aging and Healthy Lifespan

World-renowned physicians, academic leaders and award-winning researchers are expected to attend the Aging & Healthy Lifespan Conference on Sept. 23, 2009, at Harvard Medical School. Sponsored by Pure Communications and the American Federation for Aging Research (AFAR), the program will feature breakthrough scientific research and insights about social trends that may provide the keys to unlocking the secrets to living longer and healthier lives. Speakers include, Leonard Guarente, PhD, Novartis Professor of Biology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology; Cynthia Kenyon, PhD, Director of the Hillblom Center for the Biology of Aging at the University of California, San Francisco; and David Sinclair, PhD, Sirtris Co-Founder, Scientific Advisory Board Co-Chair and Associate Professor of Pathology at Harvard Medical School. AFAR Executive Director Stephanie Lederman will be participating in a panel discussion moderated by Michael Roizen, MD, Co-founder of RealAge and New York Times best-selling author.

Speakers at the Aging & Healthy Lifespan Conference will present emerging research into scientific and medical advances in aging, as well as lifestyle and demographic trends on two speaker tracks. One track will focus on new research and insights in the science of aging. The second track will feature emerging social trends in lifestyles, behaviors and activities of the aging population.
