Another Space Milestone for John Glenn
(NAPS) When John Glenn became the first American to orbit
the Earth in 1962 he probably never imagined that decades
later he'd also become America's first senior citizen astronaut.

But in October, at 77 years of age, he'll return to the "final
frontier" aboard the space shuttle Discovery.
And that's not the only frontier John Glenn is talking about
these days. "In the next fifty years, the number of people
over 65 will triple. Research on aging is essential to preventing
or delaying diseases like Alzheimer's, diabetes and osteoporosis,"
said Senator Glenn in a new television public service announcement
for the American Federation for Aging Research. "The support
of aging research will ensure that older Americans remain
vital, productive and independent."
